Required Technical and Professional Skills
Working knowledge of the following:
- Computer networking and troubleshooting
- Virtual machines
- Industrial automation communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, OPC, DNP3) o SQL and SQL server software
- Programming; Python or other scripting language a plus
- Computer-aided drawing (CAD); AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio a plus
- Solid troubleshooting skills required
- Basic Active Directory configuration a plus
- Proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and other applications
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive IT knowledge a plus
- Knowledge with SCADA systems and experience with reliable operations and controls testing
- Experience with the following software platforms: Ignition SCADA, Microsoft SQL Server,
VMware vSphere, and Windows Server
- Knowledge of the following: Active Directory Domains, Windows Clustering, iSCSI
- High level understanding of networking and firewalls, including concepts such as NATs and
VLANs, and experience using tools such as Wireshark
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience using and managing plant control systems or SCADA systems
- Minimum 1-2 years of Windows Server operating systems administration experience.
- Experience with plant control systems, RTACS, Allen Bradley PLCs, etc. desired
- Experience with screen development and HMI overlays desired
- Ignition configuration experience a plus
- Experience with data historian preferred
- Troubleshooting communications and/or system issues associated with plant controls desired
- Experience in organizing and managing multiple projects at the same time
- Experience with data management techniques to access, integrate, and present data from
multiple sources is desired (Excel, Access, etc.) desired.
- Wind or solar plant commissioning experience desired
This position is responsible for administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of two enterprise SCADA systems. The team member will assist with project support, server administration and patching to provide a highly reliable and available SCADA infrastructure for a real-time renewable energy customer base.
- Strong Windows Server troubleshooting skills.
- Experience patching Windows systems.
- Knowledge of VMware server virtualization technologies.
- Experience with network configuration on Windows servers.
- Experience with security practices and configuration of Windows servers.
